What are Books of Prime Entry?
Books of prime entry are books where transactions are first recorded before being posted to the ledger.
They are also called subsidiary books.

Sales Journal β Records credit sales of goods.
Purchases Journal β Records credit purchases of goods.
Sales Returns Journal β Records returns from customers.
Purchases Returns Journal β Records returns to suppliers.
Cash Book β Records cash and bank transactions.
